Abstract
A escasos meses de haber perdido al gran Maestro don Miguel León-Portilla (1926-2019), quiero rendir un sencillo homenaje a su memoria hablando de Tiempo y realidad en el pensamiento maya, obra que marcó el futuro de mi vida personal y profesional, al haber disfrutado su lectura en 1990, cuando yo era apenas estudiante del Plantel 7 “Ezequiel A. Chávez” de la Escuela Nacional Preparatoria. Aún recuerdo con vívido placer la grata impresión que me causaron las imágenes de las inscripciones jeroglíficas mayas, así como la profundidad cronosófica de aquella pretérita cultura, de la que poco o nada yo sabía por entonces.
